Prove something without revealing it.
A zero-knowledge proof lets you prove a statement is true without revealing the underlying data - e.g. proving you are over 18 without showing your birth date.
In crypto, ZK-rollups compress thousands of transactions into one verifiable proof, and privacy protocols use them to hide amounts and addresses.
A site must check you are over 18. With a ZK proof it receives “yes” and a mathematical proof, nothing else.
ZK separates verification from disclosure. A pro sees it as a compliance tool as much as a scaling brick (zk-rollups).
